The Harvest Moon

Poem Written During My Divorce

Mike Hazelwood

My mind troubled,
Deep and dark as night,
No redemption,
No truth! Only lies!
Demons shadow danced,
What lurked in her mind?
Wolves,
Secrets and black lies.
Help…
No truth?
No answer came.
"Truth," she would say,
'There is no one else."
"I love you!"
"Don't you believe me?"
Her eye's never fixed on mine,
Cold and indifferent she became,
My body trembled, tears rolled.
At last the truth revealed
The harvest moon,
Blood red,
Veils opened,
Darkness shown..
Anger… Betrayal…
Wounds opened with words,
Truth-
Sharp.
Cutting…
My mind drenched with pain.
Separated now,
The harvest has came,
