The Harvest Moon - Don't Miss It

An astrological/astronomical Moon event you don't want to miss is coming up on September 12. This day and two afterward are good chances to look at a most awesome Full Moon. Since the Sun is so close to going into Libra, this sign of beauty contributes to the splendor of the yearly Harvest Moon occasion.

October is Libra's home, but it begins on September 24 this year, which occurs shortly after the Harvest Moon event.

Libra is the point of balance in the zodiac. The emphasis is neither on matter nor spirit. Almost as though it is a point of neutrality and harmony, the things that Libra is most well known for are prominent in the night skies.

Harvest Moon festivals are abundant throughout spiritual, and meditation groups everywhere. In general, the full magnificence of the Full Moon on this night is enough of a reason for observation and celebration.

This is a time when the moon is nearest the autumnal equinox, which is on September 22. As a result, the Moon rises very quickly at this time.

The looks of the huge, colorful full moon is a deception - it's really smaller than at other times during the year.

One of the reasons it is so colorful isn't so romantic. Because of its horizontal position, there is more pollution to look through when viewing.
