The Harvest moon arrives tonight in full glory. She will illuminate the night sky, and is aptly named as farmers were able to use the moon's extra light to have additional time to harvest their crops. The moon will appear at its largest at 5:27 a.m. EDT Monday.
On Sunday night, it will be a spectacular sight in the sky, and even with the naked eye you'll be able to see the moon's craters and details of its surface.
Experts are also predicting an incredible display of lights, as the sun expelled a high number of solar particles earlier this week, during a series of sun eruptions. When they interact with the upper atmosphere, they create the beautiful northern lights known as the aurora borealis.
The timing for the harvest moon this year could not be better, falling on the 10th anniversary of 9/11. In addition to its bright illumination, this moon is said to bring the perfect time for healing any negative energy. Whether you believe in this or not, the energy of the moon and its effect on earth and those who live here, cannot be denied.
We know the moon affects the ocean tides, but did you know that scientists have proven that the gravitational pull of the moon also affects human beings?
For centuries, people on earth have attributed the moon to many things, from physical symptoms to bad moods, luck and fertility, and some of the latest research points to the fact that it is the moon's affect on hormones that may influence human behavior and even immune response.
On Sept. 11 and heading into Sept. 12, we have the opportune time to let go of anything that has been holding us back, including addictions and emotional pain. Isn't this a perfect time to heal from the damaging attacks that took our country by surprise a decade ago?
Take this time to use your words wisely, with the intention of healing yourself and others around you, and maybe by restoring one person's wholeness at a time, America and the world we live in can eventually become whole again.
