The Haunted Dinner

A Routine Outing to a Resturuant that Quickly Changed to Something I'll Never Forget

Most people aren't sure if they believe in ghost, maybe saying yes or no because they lean towards one belief more than the other, but rarely are people sure of there decision. I used to be the same way until I had a visit to a local restaurant that had some haunting lore in its history. Ever since my first hand experience I've always answered that question without any doubt in my mind.

It started during a trip to Houston to visit a friend, growing up in the area I always heard about The Spaghetti Warehouse but never had the chance to try the food, so naturally knowing I was close I quickly opted to make a pit stop there for lunch. When we sat down I was very impressed with the atmosphere, it had a nice "old time western" feel to it, and the food being cooked smelled great. Me and my friend Kristina sat down and ordered our meals, and while waiting for our food we had a nice conversation. During this conversation, I noticed she turned around and looked behind her, then asked if anyone walked by just now, no one had walked by us since we sat down besides the waiter so I told her no, she looked a little confused for a moment but continued on with our conversation.

A few moments later she turned around again, this time a little faster and after inspecting the empty space behind her, looked back at me and asked if I'm sure no one walked by. When I responded no she again looked a little perplexed, and stated "I swear I keep feeling someone brush against me." I didn't think much of this at the time, it seemed odd but I figured she was just being weird, she was always known for being a fun person after all.

We continued to chat until our food arrived, and I might add that it was delicious, but while eating something odd happened. During the middle of our meal we noticed a salt shaker move, not much, but enough to catch both of our eyes. We motioned it off figuring one of us had bumped the table without realizing it.

After the meal we both decided to go snooping around, as the building has a second level and is filled with interesting items, it even has an old trolley in the center of the room on the second floor. The top dinning area was completely barren and not a soul up there. We walked around, snooping here and there, even walking into a second kitchen stationed on the second floor that was unused, assumable because it was the middle of the week during lunchtime. Everything seemed like your average restaurant.

Before we were ready to leave we both needed to make a restroom stop, and luckily there was a set of restrooms for men and ladies right there on the second floor. I walked into the restroom not thinking of anything, just going in to do my business, but I instantly noticed it was quite warm the second I walked in, this was odd to me because in my experience, restrooms are normally colder than the building itself, I don't know why but it's always like that. This one however was quite warm. While in there I also noticed I weird vibe, almost like someone was watching me (which is very creepy while taking care of business I might add.) When I walked out the feeling instantly vanished and I felt normal again, once Kristine came out I mentioned the oddness of the restroom to her without going into detail, but she said that her visit to the little girls room was nothing out of the ordinary. I decided to walk into the ladies restroom out of curiosity and sure enough, it felt completely normal, normal temperature and no weird vibe. Due to me doing that, she naturally wanted to visit the men's room, she however walked in and instantly said it feels warmer and had a strange feeling. This seemed creepy so we both walked out and to our surprise we were quickly greeted by a waitress. Apparently she saw us come up and it turns out they offer little tours to anyone who wants one, and came up to show us around. We walked around talking and one of the first things she mentioned was that years ago the restaurant had 12 casualties on a freight elevator in the back, and ever since people visiting the restaurant have experienced odd things, such ass salt and pepper shakers flying across the room, very warm and cold areas oddly throughout the building at random times, and even the feeling of being touched when no one is around them.

This information quickly startled both of us, I remember looking at Kristine and she was ghost white from shock, as was I. We told our guide what we had experienced before she came, and she smiled and laughed, like she was completely used to hearing it. To her it may have been a normal thing, but to us it was a life altering experience.
