My most recent experience with the supernatural happened this past 4th of July, while camping on a friend's private property that just happened to be right next to an old cemetery in Cottage Grove, TN. Once everyone saw where we would be camping they all got spooked and started saying stuff like, "I don't want to camp next to a cemetery". I informed everyone who was in our party that they needed to be open and learn to accept the unexpected.
On the first night we were there, after setting up all of the tents my best friend came running off the trail that leads to the cemetery screaming and yelling hysterically, that she herd footsteps coming from behind her, but no one was there. Needless to say she was very spooked and wanted to leave immediately. Although I got her to stay she was still nervous. Our weekend continued on without another incident. Until July 4, 2009. It was just about dusk, the sun was setting and the night air was light and pleasant. The children ages 9 to 18 were all playing a game of kickball, when suddenly out of no ware a loud humming started and then quickly transformed into a loud moaning, almost like crying.
All of us knew that no one was playing a joke as we were all accounted for, the distorted sounds continued as we all gathered into a circle, amazed at what we were hearing. At this point I grabbed my Cannon digital power shot camera and started to take pictures in all directions. As I did this, my son started to freak out saying that something was pulling on his shorts, but I could not see anything behind him. I did take a picture at this time of the area right behind my son and was totally astounded at what I saw, all over the place in the picture are orbs or ghost lights some would call them. All of the orbs are of different sizes and vary in color slightly. When I showed the picture to my son and daughter they freaked out, ran to the truck and jumped in, at the same time the humming sound traveled with them and then abruptly stopped when they were safely in the car. After that happened everyone in our party wanted to leave, but once again I refused and defended what had just happened with my own analogy of what had just transpired.
Simply, that these specific ghosts or orbs were directed to the children's playful spirits and drawn out by all the laughing and caring on. These particular spirits probably just wanted to play. No one in my party wanted to stay, but we did. I continued to take pictures all night long and did not get anything again until, my son and daughter returned from the truck to join us at the camp fire. Again I started to take pictures of everyone and the surrounding areas, and guess what? I captured more of the orbs only this time there were fewer in each photograph and a bit faded, like there life force was not as strong.
Picture 1: Is the picture I took right after my son aid someone or something was pulling at his shorts. The open area in this picture is where the kids were playing kick ball.
Picture 2: Was taken as my son and daughter fled to the truck to hide, all of the orbs just disappeared with them.
Picture 3: Same area as Picture 1&2 right after the kids were safely in the car. Nothing was there at all.
Picture 4: This picture was taken later that evening around the camp fire. In the upper left corner there are four orbs.
Picture 5: At camp fire, in the upper right hand corner you will see an orb over my son's head.
