In order to reap the full benefits of ginger, you need to follow the recommended dosage. Take one to two capsules with meals two to three times a day or you can add ten to thirty drops of the tincture to one ounce of water and drink three to four times a day. If taking with tea, mix one-fourth to one-half teaspoon of powdered ginger or you can use a ginger tea bag, with eight ounces of boiling water. Steep and cover for ten to fifteen minutes. Drink four ounces up to three times daily. Make sure you drink the recommended amount of water or tea with the spices. And when taking spices with fluid make sure it's either water or tea, which will provide the best results.
A serious side effect of taking ginger is blood thinning. Ginger can have a blood thinning effect, so check with your doctor before using it, especially if you take an anticoagulant, such as warfarin or any other blood thinning medication. Like cayenne pepper, ginger may cause some people to experience an upset stomach when taken in larger doses than prescribed. Just like anything, consult with your doctor if you have serious diseases or illnesses, such as, diabetes or high blood pressure or if you are taking medication for your arthritis. And always take the recommended dosage. Taking too much causes other problems and taking too little may not provide the healing powers associated with ginger.
The healing powers of ginger can do wonders for those suffering from the pain of arthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. Each person is different so the results of the healing power of ginger can vary depending on the person.
