Prunes are dried plums and are a fruit that's healthy and tasty. Prunes are similar to raisins but are bigger and have more health benefits for our bodies. Prunes look similar to raisins because they are wrinkly and hard in texture. They are bigger though than raisins and have a totally different taste. Prunes can be eaten or they can be consumed in a juice both will benefit your body in many ways. In this article I will describe the health benefits of prunes that will help you live a better life.
Prunes have many health benefits I will now describe those health benefits. Prunes first of all are full of vitamins which give us energy and keep us health. Some of those vitamins associated with prunes are vitamin c, vitamin e, vitamin k, and vitamin a, and vitamin b. Prunes have many nutrients also such as iron, protein, zinc, calcium, magnesium, fiber, and protein. So with all these things prunes right away are a super healthy fruit. You can get all these nutrients from eating prunes or drinking prune juice as well.
Prunes can maintain good health by providing the body with many healing factors. Prunes give of antioxidants which can help with cancer, and many other diseases. Prunes have potassium which can help lower blood pressure which benefits the heart. Potassium also helps maintain good bone health in the body.
Lastly the main and best benefit of prunes is it's a natural laxative. Prunes are full in fiber which makes it perfect for people with constipation. Prune juice or eating prunes daily will help keep the digestive track in order and help with constipation. Prunes are a natural laxative so you don't have to worry about side-effects or getting sick like you would with medication. People with diabetes should not have to worry about drinking prune juice and having it affect your blood sugar. Prunes do not cause sugar rates to go to high since they are not too sweet and have lots of fiber. Another remedy for people constipated which I have used for my grandmother is mixing prune juice and milk of magnesia. You take two tablespoons of prune juice and two tablespoons of milk of magnesia and mix it together and drink it before bed each night.
In conclusion, prunes are tasty and healthy for your body. Prunes also are used in fruit cakes and other cake dishes. Prunes are good for many health issues but the best is for constipation. Drinking prune juice or eating prunes a day will help you with constipation so go out and enjoy some prunes today.
