I wish that I could love;
With the heart of a little child;
Even though I am older;
I want a faith that is young;
You were born a babe;
Gentle and so innocent;
You were once like me;
Now I want to be just like you;
Trusting in the Father;
Radiate with joy;
Obedient and loyal;
Singing your sweet praise;
Give me a child's heart;
So quick to forgive;
Eager to love;
That I may always be in awe;
To give my heart freely;
To those whose hearts are broken;
As you always did;
I see you standing there;
Your little arms held up so high;
Beckoning me to pick you up,
So you may carry me.
With the heart of a little child;
Even though I am older;
I want a faith that is young;
You were born a babe;
Gentle and so innocent;
You were once like me;
Now I want to be just like you;
Trusting in the Father;
Radiate with joy;
Obedient and loyal;
Singing your sweet praise;
Give me a child's heart;
So quick to forgive;
Eager to love;
That I may always be in awe;
To give my heart freely;
To those whose hearts are broken;
As you always did;
I see you standing there;
Your little arms held up so high;
Beckoning me to pick you up,
So you may carry me.

Post a CommentYour poetry is moving. The images that accompany your poems are bright and colorful, I really like them. Who did the artwork ? In addition to being a writer, I am also a serious painter. In my mission- statements, I refer to myself as a faith- based painter. Sometimes, that's all we have....our faith.
Very beautiful.
Doubt does not exist in the faith of a child.....If only we could all have that kind of Faith.......
