The Hidden Mickeys of EPCOT's Future World Central
Experience a World of Tomorrow to Finding Hidden Mickeys Today
Some days while in the wonderful throngs of Walt Disney World, it's great just to take a relaxing day (somewhat) and leisurely enjoy the days of tomorrow. Journey into a world of the future and see what it would be like as technology advances and the dinosaurs (literally and figuratively) are left behind. When it comes to learning what life may be like in five, ten, or even fifty years; we can't even begin to imagine the possibilities that await every single one of us. That is why we all love to take our time and enjoy the Experimental Prototype Community Of Tomorrow or better known as EPCOT.
EPCOT has only two main sections to the park unlike Magic Kingdom that has seven lands, but it's not like there isn't a lot of ground to cover. The park is separated into a front section known as Future World and the back section which consists of worldly countries known as World Showcase. To make this a bit simpler, I'll be dissecting the HMs of Future World first but splitting it up into three sections. The first section will focus on the icon of EPCOT and it surroundings as we look at Spaceship Earth in EPCOT's Future World Central.
Be warned that the Innoventions areas change quite randomly and often so any of those HMs can disappear in a moment's notice.
Spaceship Earth
~ In the room with ancient scholars, check out one of the cubby holes nearest the exit of the scene and you'll see three scrolls stacked together in a corner. There is one large scroll with two smaller scrolls sitting on top of it for the perfect tri-circle Mickey head.
~ The scene with the sleeping monk is where you can find your next Mickey. As you pass him, turn around and look at the paper he's sleeping on to see an inkblot Mickey.
~ As you enter the Renaissance Scene where Michelangelo is painting the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel; check out the table of the first painter to your left and you'll see three perfectly shaped white paint circles that form a HM.
~ Mickey Stickers: there are three places in this attraction that have the Mickey Mouse head stickers given out to guests by cast members, and I'm not entirely sure these count as HMs honestly. I'll tell you where they are if you want to know, but they just aren't justified as HMs in my eyes.
Innoventions West
~ In the E-Postcard section, there is a drawn image of a young Moroccan boy that has what looks like a Mickey head birthmark or tattoo on his cheek.
~ Check out Slap Stick Studios and watch the show, "What's Your Problem?" They have some prop blocks with frogs on them and each frog has red Mickey ears on.
Innoventions East
~ The only one I've found in here so far is on a wall that shows some giant road maps. Look for the highway marker #9 and you'll see a road sign that has a computer mouse on it with Mickey ears.
One of the better things about this area is that there is a lot to do and without a ton of HMs, you'll be able to look for them and enjoy everything else at the same time. Not to mention that every HM is actually pretty easy to find too. All of those in Spaceship Earth are relatively easy to find so you won't have to contort your body or squint or anything like that to catch a glance of them. Innoventions makes it simple too because you're not in a ride and moving past each HM with the threat of missing it. There you can take your time and look around or search without having to worry about bypassing anything and having to do it all over again.
EPCOT though is an excellent park and so much fun when you just allow yourself the time to take it all in and use your imagination. There is so much fun stuff to do while also a ton of information to take in and learn. Yes, you'll be having a great time at the exact same time you're getting smarter. Disney World teaches you a lot folks so just don't fight it and allow yourself to walk out of EPCOT each night with a smile on your face, tired feet, and a bigger brain.
Please feel free to let me know if there are any I've missed or that you think are truly there. Oh, and for those that are brand new to the world of Hidden Mickeys? Don't let searching for them ruin your trip to the happiest place on Earth please. Always make sure that you are taking in everything and enjoying all you can while there with friends and family. Hidden Mickeys are fun to look for and find, but there really is so much to do that you don't want to be on a wild goose chase for your entire trip.
