The Hills Finale - Lauren's Farewell

Laguna Beach alum Lauren Conrad welcomed millions of viewers into her life for 5 years on The Hills. In those 5 years they have been witnessed to the ups and downs life in Los Angeles can bring for a twenty-something coming into her own. Now after all the drama and breakup of a friendship at the hands of one Spencer Pratt, Lauren is saying goodbye to the hit MTV show.

After 2 attempts Heidi and Spencer officially got married in front of family and friends and yes, even Lauren. Although Conrad wasn't really feeling the upcoming nuptials (the wedding was in April) she had to hear about it from friends, Heidi dropping by her job to personally invite her and Spencer giving her an unexpected phone call. He surprises Lauren with apologizing about spreading the sex tape rumor and causing the rift in her relationship with Heidi. It's later revealed in reports that Spencer claimed he lied to Lauren and made that call because Heidi really wanted Lauren to be at the wedding.

In the days to come before the wedding, Lauren talked to Brody and friends about what she felt was a mistake on Heidi's part. It's apparent from her birthday party that Lauren was ready to forgive her former BFF and be civil; even if her feelings for Spencer remained the same. In the end Lauren put her feelings aside and was there for Heidi at the most important moment in her life. They had a heart to heart where Lauren told Heidi that despite it all she was happy for her.

That wasn't the only surprise at the ceremony; a blast from the past came in the form of Kristin Cavallari. You may remember her from Laguna Beach as Lauren's rival - she also introduced Heidi and Spencer to each other 4 years ago. Everyone looked on as Heidi Montag became Mrs. Spencer Pratt; there were tears and joyous applause. Upon exiting the church Kristin comes out to meet with the girls and reconnecting with Audrina and Lo. Kristin asks Lo to introduce her to someone because she's now single; Lo claims that Audrina knows everyone. Kristin mentions that she met Justin and thinks he's a pretty stand up guy; this of course hit a nerve in Audrina.

While the newly wedded couple was walking out of the front doors of the church, Lauren left out of the side door. After they were showered with rose petals and Heidi threw the bouquet (Kristin caught it), Mrs. Pratt looked over her husband's shoulder to see Lauren one last time entering her car; signifying the cue to move forward in her new life. Lauren herself took a last look from the car and she may not have said it but the expression on her face glowed with the satisfaction of fulfilling a friend's wish and taking the next step in her life.

The best way to describe the new transition is 'The calm before the storm' and Kristin is certainly gonna bring on the storm and shake things up. Already she's bringing drama to the show by causing discomfort to some of the cast members and going on a date or two with Audrina's ex Justin. She's coming on to the show as a force to be reckoned with for the ladies of L.A.
