Most managers and supervisor have personality conflicts with their employee, and that is mostly their problem, you should try to be a team player on your job and get along with everyone but they should remember why they hired you in the first place, to performed the job, because they hired you to do a job and that's what they pay you for, they should look more at your skills and what you can do for the company if they hired you, these important things are so often over looked because they want to hire someone they know, any many are not being giving a fair chance to prove themselves. And some are being hired with no qualifications only because the managers like them more.
It's just like when you apply for a credit card everything is base on your past, remember we can't erase the past but, it doesn't mean what you did on one job you will do on the next. You won't be working with the same peoples. and the circumstances are not the same most people like to better themselves...
There's a lot of unemployed people in America and most have the skills for the jobs which they apply for but, the hiring process is not fair and you end up not getting the job for all the wrong reasons. I think it would be a lot more employed people if the system was right. There is tons of jobs out there and you wonder what it going to take for you to get one well, it's all because society want to do things a certain way and not look at what's really going on. You also should be told if you did not get the job so you won't be wondering if they're going to ever call, sitting and waiting by the phone and it never rings, they don't even send a letter sometimes you wonder should I call them or not. When you do decide to call all they say is they haven't made any decision yet and than you never hear from them again, is that fair?you've been to many places and at lease they can have the courteous to tell you something, so you would think
So, maybe you should go back to school and this time for a career, you would have more of a chance this way but, all is not able to go to school because you need income to survived. Employers have been overlooking the real needs of the company for a long time because of these type of problems in the hiring process. Your skills should speak for itself on your application and that is what should matter most of all.
So, you asked why is the past held against so many, does anyone ever think that, somethings that happen in the past was not all their fault and just maybe the other parties may have had a little something to do with it as well. Most are not going to repeat the past especially with another job when they know how hard it was to find they're trying not to make past mistakes not repeat them, I think that's what everyone is trying to do and holding the past against someone is not the right way for business, you want to improve, and yet it's always the same process. If you never let the person have a chance to improve they will never improve. employers really need to take a closer look at the hiring process and start asking why this person was not hire and nine times out of ten it had nothing to do with the applicants skills for the job. It would be good if they give some sort of test so you can take it at home on your computer and if you pass it you got the job, this will help eliminate the possibility of not hiring someone because you didn't like the way they look, race, age or whatever, even tho they say the law don't allow that and everyone is being treated equal it is still being done.
