History tells us the coffee plant came from Ethiopia about 2,000 years ago. Explorers began exporting coffee to Arabia when they learned the plant offered health benefits.
Cappuccino is a popular Italian drink. Its name came from the robe color of Capuchin friars, which is light or darkish brown with a white hood. Italians only take cappuccino during breakfast and on night outs. In other parts of the world, people take cappuccino anytime of the day.
A cup of cappuccino consists of one or two shots of steamed milk, milk foam and espresso best served in small china cups paired with croissants. The ceramic cups provide more heat retention than glass and paper cups. The cappuccino foam serves as an insulator to keep the cappuccino warmer for a longer time.
For many years, cappuccino was popular only in Australia, Europe and some parts of North America. It wasn't until 1990 that cappuccino shops opened their doors in all parts of North America and the Middle East.
In the early parts of the 21st century, fast-food chains adapted versions of the cappuccino. Doughnut retailers began to offer iced cappuccino. These products however were not even close to the original cappuccino.
Coffee offers many health values. There is less likelihood of developing cancer, diabetes, heart disease, gallstones and even Alzheimer's disease. It also helps you go sharp and focused. The antioxidants in coffee are four times higher than tea or red wine. Coffee also stops headaches. Caffeine added to most pain relievers boost their pain killing effect and improve their absorption.
Coffee lovers must be aware that coffee also has harmful effects to health. Too much coffee intake may lead to greater stress, high blood pressure and hormonal imbalance.
Whether you see drinking coffee as good or bad, it will always be salable no matter the cost and packaging. With tons of coffee drinkers worldwide, coffee is a big business. Coffee shops lay in every curve of the city and more shops join the trend each day. Vending machines selling express cappuccino also made the drink inexpensive and available to all.
Blended, iced or roasted; coffee will always be a drink of choice in the way of life of today's modern people.
