Post a CommentI am interested in Escanaba as part of the search for realtives. My grandfather Peter and his brother Marius had a saw mill there some time between 1880 and 1910. They were born in Horsens, Denmark to Soren Nielsen. Peter came to Canada where he homesteaded land in the Peace Country of Alberta. This land is still in the family, farmed by myself and my family. I believe that Marius later had an auto dealership in the Escanaba area.
I would be very interested to hear from anyone that might have information. Email to harv.nielsen@gmail.com. Thanks.
Escanaba needs a visionary and more investment here for a good working manufacturing base. Shame our government has allowed this to happen .
