The first logo that they used was under the name the New Jersey Americans. This logo was used for only one year, during the 1967 to 1968. The logo consists of the colors red, white, and blue. There is a blue banner that says 'N.J. Americans' on the top. There are six stars underneath that in white, three on each side of a basketball that has white, red, and blue stripes. Under the stars and the basketball, there are nine vertical stripes, five red and four white that alternate colors.
Then, they changed the logo and their name and kept it until 1972. Their new name was the New York Nets. This new logo had a player with a ball that appears to be running. The profile of the player is very similar to the profile on the NBA logo except the basketball is on the other hand. There is a white background in which in blue, large text are the letters 'NY'. In front of that, in red script was the word 'nets'. When the letter 's' ended, it was circled around to reconnect to the 'n'.
The third logo, second under the New York Nets, was used until 1977. This was a circle that had the top area red and bottom area blue. Then, like the previous logo, the middle section was white and ontop of that in red letters was 'NY'. Ontop of that in blue was the words 'nets', in which the 's' and the 'n' connect.
Then, the Nets changed their team name to the New Jersey Nets and got a new logo for the occasion. This logo was a circle (looking like a basketball) with the top part being red and the bottom blue. Then, in the middle, which is white, is the word 'nets' in black script.
The next year they changed their logo again until 1990. This was a circle in which the word 'nets was written in the middle. The area below was filled with red and the area above filled with blue. Then, the words 'New Jersey are in this blue area along with an outline of the state of New Jersey.
Then, from 1990 to 1997, the Nets had a new logo. The top is the word 'Nets' and below it is a basketball. They are filled in with a blend of red, white, and blue. The basketball is filled in that order from top to bottom, while the word 'Nets' are filled blue, white, then red from top to bottom.
Finally, they released a new logo in which they have kept up to today. It is a blue triangle with the point angling downward. There is a small white, red, and blue ring around it. The top area is covered with the word 'Nets' in a red outline and white text. Underneath that is a grey basketball with blue lines.
