The Hollywood Palms Cinema: Your Place to Catch a Halloween Movie in the Chicago Area

John Neeb
Halloween is fast approaching and it is time to begin thinking about where you can go to watch some Halloween movies! There are plenty run-of-the-mill options in the Chicago area if you just want to see a movie. Many malls have theaters in them nowadays and there are chains of theaters available as options. If you want more of an experience, though, leave these places behind and find somewhere truly unique, like the Hollywood Palms!

The Hollywood Palms in Naperville, Ill. is a brand new movie-viewing experience opening just in time for the Halloween movie season.

The Hollywood Palms contains seven auditoriums, each with a unique theme. There are Chinese, Mayan, and even Oz-themed auditoriums. The main lobby atrium contains hundreds of live palms and a two-story cascading waterfall. Clearly, you are not in a local megaplex when catching a movie at the Palms!

In addition to the movie viewing, customers at the Palms Cinema are able to enjoy a variety of food and beverage options, including: appetizers, entrees, desserts, beer, wine, and cocktails. All this is offered with "to-your-seat service!"

In honor of the theater's grand opening, the Hollywood Palms is showing an array of classic films, complete with guest appearances from various stars and celebrities. Richard Dreyfuss ("Jaws," What About Bob," "Close Encounters of the Third Kind," etc.), Tia Carrere ("Wayne's World" and "True Lies"), and noted film critic Roger Ebert are some of those appearing to sign autographs and field Q&A sessions.

For the Halloween season, the Hollywood Palms Cinema will be showing some of the old classic horror films:

  • Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds" is slated to show on Saturday, October 17th at 7:30 and 10:00 pm.
  • "Frankenstein" is on tap for Friday, October 23rd (7 pm) and Sunday, October 25th (6 pm).
  • "The Wolfman" shows Friday, October 23rd (8 pm) and Sunday, October 25th (7pm).

These movies are absolutely perfect for the Halloween season. It is difficult to find a place to watch classics like these on the big screen, but the Hollywood Palms has you covered.

For those interested in contemporary fare, though, the Palms does show current offerings, as well.

Even with all the cool amenities, regular adult admission will only set you back eight bucks! That is even cheaper than the cost of going to see a movie at the local mall.

Given the price, food and beverage offerings, and incredible guest appearances, the Hollywood Palms Cinema is a great place to catch Halloween movies in the greater Chicago area!
