The last time I was there, there was a huge wooden fish from Indonesia sitting by the checkout counters. I asked about it and the cashier said they were just taking offers and giving it to whoever gave a decent bid! I seriously considered making offer - who else has a six-foot-long wooden fish in their house! That's the kind of unique stuff you can get your hands on at the Home Emporium. Recently, they have been offering very cool wooden furniture made out of large branches and pieces of drift wood. You have to see these pieces to believe them! A lot of the items come from Asia so if you like the Asian look, you'll be in Heaven! Ditto for furniture and pottery from Mexico. But there is something for everyone at this world bazaar of a store! I bought some framed pictures of Spain, incredible art tiles from a defunct pottery in California, large indigo planters for my yard, rockers for the porch...Well, I'd better stop there because I have bought entirely too much at the store and don't have the completely remodeled house to show for it! I do have a lot of projects in the fire though, if that counts for anything!
Every time you go to the Home Emporium, there's something new to check out and to make you wonder how it could fit into your already overcrowded home! Call for hours at (757) 543-7411! I always seem to drive by when they are closed! This store may be a little out of the way for some, but the savings and the interest factor alone are worth the drive! And you'll be back, you can count on it!
