Neutralizes up to 99% of odor causing bacteria and removes odors caused by pets, smoke and other odor causing bacteria. The Brethe machine comes with three scented botanical oil blends which are added to the water to create a fresh clean scent in the air. The oils come in an orange citrus blend, a lime blend, and vanilla. Lavender is also available but is not included with the product purchase. By placing the new Brethe machine in the most odorous area of my home, I was able to quickly notice a difference after adding just a few drops of oil to the water. Five hours later the room still smelled fresh and clean. Not in the mood for aromatherapy? The Brethe machine seems to work just as well at keeping the air crisp and fresh without the use of the botanical oils, although it took longer to reduce the odors left behind by my cat.
Brethe naturally humidifies to help restore room humidity and is environmentally safe, non-toxic, non-pollutant, non-flammable, biodegradable and alcohol-free. Irritation to my nasal cavity due to heat has significantly diminished since using the Homedics Brethe machine every night. The air never seems dry and is not heavy or humid the way traditional humidifiers often make it. Although the each bottle of oil is labeled as being a "100% natural botanical solution" the ingredients are not included and the product is made in Singapore. They do provide a customer service number for questions which is clearly printed on each bottle.
It's important to note, however, that Brethe does not filter or purify the air. Reviews on other websites show many customers giving it negative comments for not cleaning the air. The Homedics Brethe machine is not meant to do this so read your reviews and make your purchase decision with that in mind. The Homedics Brethe Air Revitalizer is an excellent addition to any home that needs a fresh, clean and naturally balanced air flow. Priced at almost $60.00, the machine can be purchased through many sources (such as QVC) for around $45.00. I found it to be well worth the price for use in my bedroom both as a way to neutralize pet odors and restore the humidity during the high heat winter months.
