The HoMedics SC-560 Tri-Fitness HealthStation Body Composition Scanner

Don't Just Weigh Yourself - Get Scanned!

You couldn't tell it by looks, but I have been a fitness buff for over ten years now. I have gone down the scales by over 80 pounds in that time and then half-way back up during a time of extreme comfort, but that's beside the point. A basic regimen in losing weight and staying healthy is looking at the numbers-calories in, calories out, body fat, and weight. Control is the key and to be able to control, you have to have the data. One of the best and simplest machines that has provided me with the necessary data is the HoMedics SC-560 Tri-Fitness HealthStation Body Composition Scanner.

At first glance, the SC-560 looks like your average electronic bathroom scale, albeit one of superior design. This device consists of the usual flat, one-piece stand with a three-line LCD screen. It is powered by one 9-volt battery which doesn't seem to last as long as that one in the smoke detector, but it does provide power for several months when used twice per day and that is more than reasonable. The auto-on feature means that the power is activated by standing on the unit and deactivated when stepping off.

Besides weight that can be measured in both pounds and kilograms, the SC-560 sends a tested, harmless signal (BIA) through the fat of your body to measure body fat percentage and body water. It also tells you what your daily calorie requirements are. Weight is measured to the fifth of a pound and the fat/water percents are accurate to a tenth of a percent.

The body fat measurements are an extremely useful feature when in a weight-loss program. Most people don't look at it and consider any loss of weight reasonable, but this is simply not true. Weight loss comes in many forms, especially with water weight as well as the fat. Water levels can greatly skew your weight readings. With this HoMedics unit there is no more guessing and you know exactly how to proceed with your program.

I have enjoyed this product for over a year and never had a problem with it. When compared to other professional devices, the accuracy has been confirmed and I am confident of the readouts it provides to me. While initial orders were slow to ship, this unit is now readily available and can be bought at many retail outlets or online from www.bestbuy.com for $49.99

When I am on my weight-loss/weight-training/fat-loss program, the HoMedics SC-560 Tri-Fitness Healthstation Body Composition Scanner is part of my daily routine and the data it provides me is invaluable. Also, by repeating the name over and over again is a great vocal workout for my acting classes.
