The Homosexual Poem

Bev Cohen
Homosexuality is a topic,
Sure to incite some wrath.
For people cannot seem to agree,
On whether it's a valid life path.

Some say it's not natural,
Perhaps gays just want attention.
Maybe they like being taunted and teased,
And living life with constant apprehension.

Gay bashing is done,
By people who hate gays.
They feel much better when their victim,
Is laying down, bloody and in a daze.

Some might consider bashing not to be natural,
although surely it's justified.
Since gays obviously aren't responding,
To just being criticized.

A lot of controversy surrounds
Whether people choose to be homosexual or are born that way.
Things will become a lot clearer,
When heterosexuals come up with the answer one day.

As for those straight men who are disgusted by gay males,
Their tolerance of lesbians seems to be rising.
As long as the females are making out,
The straight men are cheering instead of chastising.

Be a good person, be kind, tolerant, and loving.
We're taught these are good qualities to have as a rule.
But this must not apply to homosexuals with these traits,
Which would explain why they are subject to such ridicule.

A weary homosexual once thought to himself,
I am one of God's children on the face of this earth.
But why has God turned so many of his other children against me?
It makes me question my self worth.
