Our 25th wedding anniversary was the best we've had in our marriage! We wanted to do something special, but we had to watch our expenses. Relaxation and time alone were the key to our trip.

My husband likes a jaccuzzi, especially one that offers privacy. Finding a hotel with an in-room jacuzzi that is affordable for middle-income people is a challenge these days. We cruised the Internet and price-checked, then made the phone call to determine if anything had changed. Once we made the mistake of booking a room online at a hotel that offered a classy stay but was under construction. We discovered the construction after we arrived. Thankfully, we didn't have that challenge this time.

The Hotel Trinity in Fort Worth, Texas was almost perfect. While it had a few flaws, there was only one issue that interfered with what we wanted in a hotel. Also, booking during the week was much more pleasant than booking on a weekday. The hotel had few customers, so we had no problems with availability or parking. Plus, the continental breakfast was not picked over by a large crowd before we could get there to enjoy it.

We booked the Carter Presidential Suite, paid just over $100 a night, got the in-room jacuzzi, two bathrooms, two televisions, a comfy couch, a heavenly bed, plenty of space to move around and spread our belongings, a coffee pot with coffee, microwave, small refrigerator, a desk to use for our laptop computer, free hi-speed Internet and WiFi, pretty decor in the room, and an ashtray outside the door with a chair nearby for my husband to smoke (which meant the room didn't smell bad, so I didn't have to suffer).

The continental breakfast included juice, coffee, milk, tasty biscuits, fluffy scrambled eggs cooked to perfection, sausage (well done, but not overcooked), bacon (crispy and flavorful), cereals, country gravy (yummy), and a few sweet choices. The breakfast room was not crowded and offered newspapers and tourist magazines. There were two televisions with different channels for the visitors and a nook with computers and free Internet access.

The hotel offered a bar for socializing, but we had our own plans and didn't try that area. We also opted out of the heated swimming pool that was provided. Other provisions we didn't try include: Coin operated laundry, Exercise room, boardroom, a meeting room, and a sports court.

The lobby of the hotel is beautifully decorated and makes the guests feel welcome immediately upon entering. The colors are warm, yet not boring. The design is interesting. Small things are offered for purchase for those guests who forgot to pack them. Postcards of the hotel are offered for free at the front desk so a souvenir can be taken for the memory books.

Entrance to the hotel is easy access. Shopping and fuel are offered nearby. The hotel staff is courteous. Plus, we didn't have the unwelcome interruption of the morning maids. We have stayed in hotels where the maids made far too much noise with their carts and their chatter, often ignoring the "Do not disturb" signs on the doors to wake sleeping guests. At the Hotel Trinity, our requests for privacy were respected.

Cons: Tea was advertised as one of the perks for in-room use. Upon our arrival the tea was missing and because we opted to forego maid service, we didn't get our tea the maids were in charge of delivering. Remotes for the televisions were not provided until we called to ask for them; then we had to make a second phone call to request them when they still were not delivered for several hours after our first request. The second morning of our stay, the hotel clerk booked the room above ours to someone with young children who woke us to the sound of feet running and stomping around their room.

Overall, I give the Hotel Trinity an A grade, with A being a top grade. A room can be booked at http://www.innsuites.com or http://www.hoteltrinityfortworth.com. Directions are also provided online as well as the hotel phone number.
