Hot weather brights are more popular than ever. Gone are the creamy roses and tawny sands of previous Julys and Augusts. Fruit punch-y colors are highlighting well tanned fingers and toes. OPI has a mouth watering array of juice inspired shades. Try the company's Red Hot Ayers Rock , from their Australia collection, Also try the Aussie inspired, Tasmanian Devil Made Me Do It and A True Ab-Original. These are in your face punchy geranium colors that will offset a tan along with highlighting an eyelet mini and gold bangles. Other OPI hues worth considering are Melon of Troy , Don't Be Koi With Me and Cajun Shrimp. Essie also has a slew of shades that fit right in. Their Carousel Coral is the perfect shade to wear with those Lilly Pulitzer inspired maxi dresses. The old standby of beauty - Revlon - has summery shades suited to this "juice" mania.Go with Passion Punch Shimmer on hands and Passion Punch on toes for a complimentary color scheme. For a less intense look, try Tuscan Sun on both hands and feet. Another casual shade is Flushed Blush, perfect for both workdays and weekend barbecues. Paint on Revlon's long wearing water resistant color stay in the citrus hued Always Flaunting.
New York City salons are starting the trend of mixing a juicy bright pedicure with a shimmery pale manicure. This was first seen at the famous Jin Soon Choi' s salon. You can have this look by adding Revlon's Color Stay Always Sheer Buff or Always Sheer Camisole while keeping toenails bright. Revlon's regular enamels collection has some great pales too, like Sheer Blush, Sheer Nude, Sheer Buff and Sheer Peach. If you want to have a really low key and demure look then frost those tootsies with shimmery whites and pinks. too. This is a fresh look that works well with both dark and light complexions Two colors that work well either on hands or feet is Revlon's Snowflake Pink or Sheer Blossom. L'Oreal has amazing shimmers and sheers. Its' new Steel Colors line has great barely there pales such as SheerForce and Sheer Valor as well as the pearly Barbell and Physique. The company's brand new Bijou line has the glistening hues of Innocent, Sweet and Pure. These have a finish of optic fibers that provide an extra sheen. If you want variety then look into OPI This nail polish giant has the biggest selection this season . Its' new summer collection Tea Party features fragile looking opalescent whites and pinks. For a delicate look try I'llTake The Cake or Just Tea-sing.Also check out oldies like Argenteeny-Pink-ini and It's Sheer Luck from previous collections. Essie also has pales but they're sexier than any of the other brands. Their milky Ballet Slippers is a coast to coast favorite. Other top choices are the shell pink Limo-scene and the creamy beige. Mademoiselle .Other Essie pales worth noting are Breezy Beach, Buy Me a Cosmo, Delicacy, Sandy Beach Vinyl Bikini and It's In The Bag. These are sexy colors that would make any sundress or evening outfit much more appealing.
Make sure your nails are color ready before painting on any polish.. Soak hands and feet in warm soapy water first. This is a good time to pumice calluses. Also you can get rid of any cuticles either by cutting them or using a cuticle dissolving cream. Remember that short nails are best in summer. Let's face it there's nothing more ickier than getting barbecue sauce or dirt under long talons. File to a "squoval" shape just a centimeter or two above the nail bed on both fingers and toes. Use a base coat that is also a ridge filler. This will give the manicure and pedicure a nice, smooth surface. Apply a thin coat polish first in the middle then down either side of the nail. After the second coat use a top coat to lock in color and prevent chipping.
This summer you can have trendy fingers and toes . Just paint on the seasons' hottest colors. Go with juiced up brights ,soft demure pales, or a combo of both. You'll have the neatest nails of what's left of 2007's summertime.
