The House of Payne

Fall TV

RONYAE
Tyler Perry gave us a terrific start with his new series, The House of Payne, a comedy that 'puts the family back in family television'. During the first season, viewers were able to not only be entertained, but educated by the comedic series; episodes came with real life problems and issues that touch our lives everyday. Issues ranged from the family being forced together under one roof as the nephew, played by Allen Payne and his family are burned out of their home to C.J (Payne)'s wife being a drug addict to Pop's (played by Lavan Davis) son (Lance Gross) dating a young lady diagnosed with HIV. The episodes have you on the edge of your seat-either splitting a rib or in tears from the real-life dramatic issues we see everyday.

It would be great to see what will happen to the drug-addict wife of C.J. this season. I mean, this lady has been a thorn in the side of C.J. ever since their home went up in flames; she's been into everything from running away from the rehab centers to being an accessory to a break-in at the Payne's home. It's good to see real life problems/issues on television; this gives us an insight on issues and how families deal with them.

As the Payne family struggle with everyday issues, we still have that lingering wonder of what will happen to C.J.'s wife. Will she ever find help from her crack addiction? Will she ever return to her family? Will her family ever forgive her of her drug-influenced acts? Only time will tell, and let's hope that the story will unfold in the next season of the House of Payne!

Another wonder for the viewers would be if C.J. can ever love again? This guy has had it bad; a drug-addict wife and two small children to care for. Not forgetting the fact that his uncle (Davis) wants him out of his house! Can C.J. find the happiness he only prays for at night? Let's hope so! During the first season of the House of Payne, C.J. has been battling the woes of keeping his family together, along with trying to keep himself a life of happiness, being a man with needs. There was an episode where family and friends at the Firehouse were trying to help C.J. land a date, but of course their attempts failed; C.J. had just too many negative issues surrounding his loneliness, and thus causing him to lay it on a little thick (concerning his drama) on his dates-to-be.

Nonetheless, it will be exciting to see what really happens to the family; will Pops ever soften his heart to C.J. and his family? Or will it forever be a 'House of Payne'?

Great review. I too am looking for a better background on to how CJ's wife became addicted to drugs. I think it will really bring together the missing pieces in this story.
