Peaking too early is dangerous, especially in political races and Texas Hold'Em tournaments. It doesn't work to relieve the pressure that comes with running the mind-rattling marathon that is political campaigning or high stakes gambling. And our friend Obama is starting to realize the grim consequences of reaching the top well before his competitor, Hillary "Pants Suit" Clinton. Like a horse who managed to win both the Kentucky Derby and Preakness, only to snap a leg thirty-feet from the finish line at Belmont, Obama might be on his way to the glue factory with the rest of the former hopefuls turned dud.

Howard Dean did it with one swift motion of the arm and a loud, screeching "BYAHH!". And it appears that Obama's recent verbal blunder-you know that poorly phrased statement about yokels and their deep affinity for guns, God, and anti-immigrant sentiment-has spilt enough of his blood into the water to draw the sharks in for the kill. It wouldn't be wrong to assume that Hillary's nipples perked up a bit once word of Obama's statement got to her. Surely, it was the most stimulation Hillary's had in years. But for those living in a cave (dirty terrorists) here is the statement, which might serve as the beginning of Obama's short, painful tumble down Democrat Mountain:

"It's not surprising, then, they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations," said Obama at a fundraiser in San Francisco.

Sure, if you're one of the rational people-a group fewer in numbers than Native Americans-you're probably thinking, "Crude but true." However, in the world of politics that statement is the same as Obama going up on stage for a speech, pulling down his pants, and farting into the mic.

Since then he has conceded that the statement was poorly worded, but still believes the essence of it is true: people are bitter. How could people not be bitter after having nearly forty years of inept governing? And that is being kind. Realistically, it would be hard to find a president who genuinely cared for the American people since JFK; and look how that turned out.

But to be fair, to blame the fizzling of the Obama flame solely on this incident of speaking stupidly would not be accurate. No, Obama's petering off began when he was linked to Chicago slumlord, Tony Rezko; got worse when the reverend at Obama's church, Jeremiah Wright, also spoke stupidly; and now, with the most recent mishap, the proverbial fan has been hit by the proverbial *expletive removed*.

The saddest thing about this whole ordeal is that all the hope and optimism that many American voters shared due to Obama has begun to fade. Soon only gloom and stark uncertainty will be jabbing at voter's minds. Of course, that is the rub when it comes to election years. Everyone gets their hopes up early as getting rid of the current boob in the Oval Office is only a few months away. Then the muck gets raked and the skeletons are revealed leaving us with candidates no better than the kind we're used to. Politics is an ugly, deformed, and wretched business.

Even worse is the mass conglomeration of the media into hands that are in the pockets of many of Washington's power players. How can we trust network news channels and their subsidiaries when it is clear that their owners have clear political agendas? What do we believe? This pandemic called belief is dangerous for one very frightening reason: belief is subjective. We can believe whatever we want, justifying it and eventually rationalizing it. And the danger of this is when we begin to believe that we know. Now if you knew anything then you would know that you can never know. So really, it isn't surprising that many people do not know that they cannot know, so they believe as their life depends on it. Nevertheless, in regards to picking a president, we will never know if the decision was good until they get into office. Campaigning politicians are never accurate portrayals of the person we will be getting as our next president.

As for the solution to the current situation involving three candidates and Nader, that's easy: Joe Biden. Yea, I bet you didn't see that coming. Most Americans are barely, if at all, familiar with Joe Biden, but history has shown he has been one of the most consistent and genuinely good people in Washington, a severe anomaly.

In nearly forty years in Washington, Biden has adamantly opposed taking money from lobbyists. He is the Chairman of the U.S. Senate Committee on Foreign Relations and has loads of experience in regards to dealing with all kinds of conflict. To be brief (not a strong point of mine), Biden is the man. I could go on, telling you why Joe Biden should be the President of the United States, but since I'm technically the media because I have a blog, it would only be proper if I encouraged you to do your own research on Biden-watch his speeches on YouTube, look at his voting record and his positions on all the current hot-button issues, and so on. After all, if we want our country to pull itself out of the horrible rut we've been in, it is up to us to become active in our own affairs.

Indeed. And after you, the fine reader, research Biden, please tell your friends and family to do the same. It's not too late for a massive surge of American energy to bring Biden back into this thing. Remember, the American citizens have the power; we've simply been tricked into thinking that swine in suits dictate our future, and that's a damn shame.
