The HP Compaq Laptop PC has a lot of features I was looking for. Mainly, this was processing power and memory. It has an AMD Athlon Dual Core 64 2.1 GHz processor with 2GB of DDR2 Memory. The memory is expandable to 4GB This is plenty fast for the applications I need it to perform.
The Operating System that comes installed on the HP Compaq Laptop PC is Windows XP Por. You get the option to upgrade to Windows Vista Business with the included recovery media. I opted to do that as soon as I got it home.
The graphics on the HP Compaq Laptop PC are just as fast as the processor and memory. It has an ATI Radeon 3200. This has enough video memory to play even the fastest games.
The HP Compaq Laptop PC includes all of the ports you will need to connect to the internet, and your peripherals. There are four USB ports, a LAN port, S-Video input, FireWire port, and more.
The HP Compaq Laptop PC includes an Integrated Webcam and a Microphone so you can Teleconference, or Telecommute. It also has integrated wireless communication, so that anywhere you have wireless internet available, you can log on and do what you need to.
I brought the HP Compaq Laptop PC home and had no trouble setting it up. I took advantage of the fact that it included an upgrade to Windows Vista. Making the upgrade was fast and easy.
The HP Compaq Laptop PC is lightweight, portable and easy to use. The keyboard is small, but not too bad. If I had larger hands it might be an issue. It was fine for my use though. Using a touchpad took a bit of getting used to however. I am one of these people that have always used a mouse, so I guess there is a learning curve. I did like the fingerprint reader though. This gives me the ability to use biometric security to protect my laptop.
The screen is a little smaller than what I am used to. (15.4") My desktop computer has a 19" Monitor. Overall though it is a bargain and does everything I want it to do.
