There is always a fine line between having an ultra-portable device and losing functionality from having such a small keypad. Anyone who has used a smart phone such as the Google Android knows how annoying it is to use the tiny QWERTY keypad. Also, watching videos is just not the same when viewing a funny YouTube video on a smart phone because the screen size is just too small to actually enjoy watching movies. However, using a netbook such as the HP Mini will allow the user to have a lightweight, portable, and functional minicomputer. The 1137NR is a step up from the 1115NR and utilizes a 10.1" (measured diagonally) anti-glare screen. Another huge upgrade is the 80 GB hard drive, which is a little bit less than a standard laptop. range. For example, the Toshiba Seattle A215 (an older laptop manufactured in 2008) has 120 GB HD and is priced within the same range as the HP Mini Netbook.

Another benefit of using the Atom processor is that it is very energy efficient, and this allows the user to have extended battery life when away from an electrical outlet. The Windows XP Home Edition operating system makes it easy to perform word-processing, surf the Internet (via Internet Explorer) and use the web-cam chat function (web cam is built-into the netbook).
