Well, in 2007, HTC Touch P3450 Black, also known as HTC Elf 100, was launched as the world's first phone to feature intuitive touch screen technology. The seductively stylish, sleek, compact HTC Touch can compete with the bigger PDA at just about any task you have in mind for it to do. Unlike the bigger PDAs, storing it is a lot simpler. The tiny HTC Touch weighs only 112 grams (including battery) and is 58x99.9x13.99 millimeters. Don't let the size fool you. The screen is 2.8 inches and does just what you need it to do.
The 1.9 MP camera is just enough for everyday use as is the video capture feature. But this PDA is so much more than a camera - taking photos is only a small part of what this device is capable of doing.
Just a few of the HTC Touch components include running on Windows Mobile® 6 Professional, Bluetooth, surfing the web with Internet Explorer®, and using email accounts from sources like Yahoo! and Hotmail. You will also have access to your Outlook® email along with the most frequently used Microsoft® Office tools. Chatting on Messenger is simple. And you can even send pictures through your own web space using Windows Live.
Entertainment on the HTC Touch is endless through the integrated media suite. You can listen to your favorite music or simply watch a movie clip of your choice. But that's not all. Uploading, storing and sharing media files is effortless with microSD removable memory.
The 200 MHz CPU has 128 MB of ROM space. The 64 RAM of QVGA display resolution is more than enough for the HTC Touch.
The phone can be unlocked for use with an existing GSM Network, such as GSM900, GSM1800, GSM190 allowing the P3450 to connect easily to the Internet through GPRS, EDGE, CSD, and WiFi.
Its navigating Touchscreen with intuitive TouchFLO screen technology is easy to utilize without the need for a keyboard just by sweeping your finger across the screen. The flipping of the screen has been said to resemble a Rubik's Cube.
The HTC Touch seems to be ranging in the $400 to $500 price and is available on the Internet.
Keep in mind, it seems like every other company is creating new devices, and at the same time, competing over how they can keep people up-to-date on technology the fastest. Which handheld is the easiest to use? Which one works where and when you need it? All the while, these companies are creating smaller and smaller devices; one of them may some day invent a PDA that just might fit around your wrist and be the size of your wristwatch face.
If money is no problem, and you like the thought of just swiping your finger across a screen without a small keyboard that can be a nuisance, and you're looking for a small handheld device for specific phone and computer capabilities, then the HTC Touch P3450 Black may be the thing for you.
