The Human Obsession to Predict the End of Time

The Human Obsession

Kurt Evans
People seem to have an obsession to want to predict the end of time. Some would say that the human obsession to predict the end of time is a psychologically built in need of a human being.

The End Of Time

Still, others would argue that the end of time is among us and we can't do anything about it.

The Bible

And, there are still others that think that the future is all predetermined and that it's all been written about in the Bible.

Eternal Damnation

The people that believe the Bible will tell you that you had better follow them or you are doomed to a life of eternal damnation after this one.

Coast To Coast

If you listen to a radio talk show called Coast To Coast on AM 570, you can hear people talk about a variety of issues. Some of the topics that I've heard covered are time travel, 2012, conspiracy theories, The Illuminati, The Hildeberg Group, UFOs, Aliens, Reincarnation, and the end of time.

Ideology

It seems to me that people always come up with theories on when the end of time will be and they'll try to fit their ideology into a certain mold and try to use scripture from the Bible to support their conclusion. They'll do all this as a way to try to earn money for them selves by selling a book.

Truth

The truth of the matter is that there are so many different versions of the Bible that you could probably come up with ideas for virtually anything, and then, say," it's supported by scripture in the Bible."

No End Of Time

The truth is that nobody really knows. As far as we know there is no end of time and life will go on like it always has.

Illusion And A Power Trip

The human ego can have you thinking that you want to be king of the world and rule everything. That's just an illusion and a power trip. Wouldn't it be lonely if you did rule the world? Wouldn't there be people that would eventually show up from other worlds that would want to interact with you?

Opinion

My question is, will there ever come a time when we can just live with each other as human beings and accept that we have differences of opinion? Will we ever be able to live in peace and harmony with everything else that exists in this universe and beyond?

I really hate to burst everyone's end time bubble, but the idea that this earth will pass away is only figurative in the sense that mankind will get to the point where unless intervention (Second coming) happens, we will rule each other into extinction. The second coming promises a 1000 Earth years of living under Christ's rulership. He won't be ruling over a dead planet or populace. There's no sense in dying for all of the sins of mankind, if mankind no longer exists. Is that too hard to understand?

I am not a Biblical scholar, but lately I have been thinking a lot about the end of time.It has been a depressing time too.

I, too believe the Bible, and it teaches that the world, like all things, will pass away. Good article.

Time as we know it will come to an end. Pets die, building crumple and people pass away. I believe in The Bible. It doesn't matter if you are reading the New International Version, the King James Version or the Message bible, they all say the same thing - "... the world will pass away." cheers :)
