The Hunter

Peggy Montgomery
Seduced by words filled with empty promises.

Lured by hints of passion filled nights.

A heart given freely with trusting eyes.

He used her even tho twas not his right.

A hunter of women and a liar born.

Sweet words his weapon and lust his drug.

He chose them most carefully, those wounded by others.

Sated by their pain, He would come in the night.

Meaningless words of love filled her ears;

She wanted so much to believe.

Vulnerable and alone, quickly love took her,

The hunter laughed and continued to deceive.

Then came the day when he found another,

And left the message for her to find.

The realization of what he was and had done,

Almost made her lose her sweet mind.

She endured with the help of another,

The love of the man that was meant for her soul.

But sisters, be careful, be wary of the hunter!

His touch and his kisses, on your heart take their toll.

His lies; sweet as honey,

His touch melts your skin.

But his ultimate trophy;

Your heart forever; is what he wants to win.
