The Ice Cream Bandit

One hot summer day, 7 year old Riley went with her family to an ice cream shop down the corner. There, they ordered triple hot fudge sundaes for her and her sister. After placing their order and devouring the delicious ice cream sundaes, Riley and her family were very full and satisfied.

Incidentally, Riley had Mary's birthday party to attend that afternoon. She reminded her mom that she still needed to find a birthday present for her best friend, Mary.

Being the slowest eater in her family, Riley still had half of the sundae to finish. Instead of throwing out the ice cream leftovers, Riley wanted to save the remaining ice cream for later. She knew she couldn't bring food or drink into the department store, so Riley left her ice cream sundae in the car and cracked the window open to keep the car cool.

Having found the perfect gift for Mary, Riley went back to the car to place Mary's birthday present in the trunk. While she was near the car, Riley peered through the window to check on her ice cream. She was appalled with what she saw through the car window.

Riley opened the car door, gazed at the puddle of melted ice cream and said, "Someone call the police! A thief broke into our car and ate my ice cream! Just look at that huge spill of ice cream he left behind!"
