If
the things I would
say,

If

do,

If
the things I would
be,

If
the things I would
believe,

If
these things matter
today,

Will they matter
tomorrow?

And if
these things matter
tomorrow,

Will they matter next year?

If
these things matter
next year,

Will they matter
to your children?

If
these things matter
to your children,

Will they matter
to the children
of the children?

Should not this - and only
this - be the filter
for judgment

of the things we would say,
of the things we would do,
of the things we would be,
of the things we would believe?

And if
things that do matter
will not matter
do they not
not matter?
