The Importance of Getting Carotenoids into Your Diet

Many of use don't eat a lot of fruits and veggies during our busy day simply because we don't have enough time to stop and make a delicious healthy meal or small. However, fruits and veggies are really important to eat because they contain powerful antioxidants in them called carotenoids. Carotenoids help keep our immune systems functioning healthy and strong so it can fight off free radical cancer causing cells.

Some of the fruits and veggies that contain these powerful antioxidant carotenoids in them are peppers, tomatoes, carrots, squashes, sweet potatoes, red onions, spinach, berries, melons, peaches, kiwis, oranges, and leafy greens such as romaine lettuce. Basically, all fruits and veggies with lots of deep colors such as oranges, reds, pinks, yellows, and greens. The best way to get these powerful antioxidants into your body is by eating all these fruits and veggies raw in their purest form. Once they are boiled or cooked for long periods of time they tend to those their nutritional value. It is extremely important to get up too 10 to 12 servings of these particular fruits and veggies a day to prevent cancers, illnesses, diseases, and other common health problems.

If you do not like eating these fruits and veggies raw and straight up make fruit or veggie salads. Add raw veggies too your sandwiches. Make fruit salad wraps with plain yogurt for lunch or breakfast. Heck, make fruit smoothies, or juice purees. Some people even like taking certain fruit and veggie combinations and making a delicious juice in their juicer machine. These are for sure ways to get these fruits and veggies into your diet so you can get the carotenoids from them and be happy and healthy for as long as you can. You will even find yourself with more energy, and looking much younger.

The different types of cancers carotenoids can prevent are colon, stomach, breast, prostate, lung, brain, liver, and skin cancers. Carotenoids also help prevent heart and eye diseases. They even help keep the immune system healthy and strong so your body can fight off the common colds and flues. Carotenoids are extremely important too eat to help keep your eyes healthy and strong and seeing properly. Especially if you don't want to end up wearing glasses when your 50 years of age or older. These powerful antioxidants are also needed to help prevent skin cancer away and keep the skin healthy and strong so it can protect are organs. Without carotenoids in our diet we wouldn't be able to see, our skin would look very old, and we would all get cancers, diseases, or common illnesses.

So, even though your schedule is busy, busy you need to take time out of the day too eat your fruits and veggies so you can get some carotenoids into your diet to prevent cancers, diseases, and common health conditions. You only need 5 minutes in a day to make a smoothie, or put together a fruit or veggie salad. It takes 0 minutes to eat a piece of fruit or some sliced up veggies. It doesn't matter how you get these fruits and veggies down and in you just as long as they are raw and pure.
