The Importance of Keywords in Your Articles

Make Your Article More Visible

Jenny Powers
Until recently, I wrote comments just to write comments. Sometimes I didn't even read the article. I just wanted other people to read and comment on mine. I'm sure no one else has done this before. By the way, if you are still reading, this is where key facts get interesting.

It is ALL about keywords. When picking your 3-5 keywords for your article, think about what you would personally put down on Google to research the subject. Make sure your title has keywords placed in it, as well as the description. This is important because if you put in keywords that aren't in your article or are far in the body of the article, your search results will be very minimal.

Next is where people's comments come in. Again the more your keywords show up on an article, the better the visibility of your article. This would mean for comments you personally leave for this article, "Great article" or "I never knew that" does me no good. However writing something like "Great article about articles using keywords. I did not know this impacted visibility of articles we write" or something along those lines will put this article up higher in visibility results.

Since we are all here to support each other, it is important that we help each other. We are actually hurting each other and putting the article further down in search results by not putting in a keyword in our comments. Even if you write "Good article about keywords" to keep it short, this still will go a lot further than "good article." We learn new things everyday- let's continue to help each other and use keyword comments vs. generic comments.

Interesting and informative article on keywords.....I never knew that putting keywords in comments made a difference in getting views, either.

I didn't realize that keywords in comments mattered. Thanks for sharing this.

I did find that adding popular keywords to articles did get them a little more traffic. Most of my reviews are about products or Neopets so for me it's hit or miss. Great write up about "keywords" .. hope it gets you lots of hits :)

I did not realize that comments using key words could also get articles noticed. So hope your article gets more noticed more because I have now used key words in this comment twice.

Wow, I never realized that putting keywords in your articles and in the comments made it "higher" on any list. I will definitely keep this in mind and use lots of keywords - keywords - keywords - keywords and will make sure I try to remember the importance of keywords in my articles as well as the importance of keywords in my comments. Thank you for putting so much light on the importance of keywords! P.S. I do enjoy reading the articles. I just didn't realize the importance of article keywords in my comments. :O)
