The Incredible Hulk Movie Review (2008)

When I first heard about the new Hulk movie and that it wouldn't be starring the same people as the previous Hulk flick I thought, why? I thought they would be remaking the first one (same plot and everything) but then I found out they were doing something even stranger. They would be picking up basically where the other one left off, but with completely different people playing all of the characters. Soap opera meets Superhero?

But The Hulk isn't really a superhero. He's just a guy who turns green when he's hungry - I mean... angry. Not to worry for everyone obsessed with superhumans saving the day, The Hulk actually gets to do just that in this one rather than merely running away from everyone. Of course, if his girlfriend's Dad had been a little more competent he may not have had to.

All in all, The Incredible Hulk was an incredible let down. With Ed Norton and Liv Tyler in the lead roles, I would have thought it would be at least a fun flick, but their talents were completely wasted.

The best scene in the entire movie maybe lasted a whole minute when Liv and Ed start to get intimate and the beeper on his watch (which monitors his pulse and let's him know when he needs to fight "the beast within") starts going faster and faster and they have to stop before he gets too excited.

Oh well. Maybe I just don't get the appeal of a grand finale involving two massive CGI monsters running towards each other and leaving distruction in their wake.

Like minds will probably also cringe at what I guess could be called "a surprise ending."

When is enough enough?
