The Incredible Shrinking Integrity of Democrats ... Part One... Stay Tuned for Part Two
Every Barrel Has Some Bad Apples, but the Democrat Barrel is Really Starting to Stink
A wise man once said that the easiest thing in the world to be is a liberal, because they stand for nothing. Take a look at some of these inconsistencies.
Drunk!
George W. Bush admits to being an alcoholic who quit drinking in 1986. In a feeble October surprise attempt before the 2000 election, it was revealed that, in 1976, Bush was arrested for drunk driving. The truth also came out that when he was stopped, he was completely cooperative with the officer, and then dealt with his self-confessed drinking problem. And by the 2000 election he had been sober for 14 years.
Barak Obama, the new Messiah of the Democrat party, anointed by Oprah Winfrey and hoisted on the shoulders of Democrats as the presidential hopeful for 2008, openly admits that he is was once a pot smoker and cocaine user, and that's all okey dokey with the Dems. Looking at their history, it appears that, as long as you're a Democrat (and a favored one at that) it doesn't matter what you drank, smoke, ingested, or that you have no self-control when it comes to sex.
Too Slim a Majority!
Not long ago a Clinton devotee blogger (let's call him Willard) made an incredible statement. He said that Bush may have won the 2004 election, but because he only got 51% of the vote... well... that just wasn't enough of a margin for Willard to actually consider Bush the real president.
I asked Willard if he considered Clinton the "real president" from 1993-2000 while BJ occupied the White House. Willard answered that he did... that he loved Clinton and wished he could've run for a third term. I pointed out that Clinton won neither election by a majority vote. He won the first by 43% and the second one by 49%, both thanks to Ross Perot's third party run. Willard didn't answer after that. I thought his silence was pretty telling, but at least he was mature enough to not throw food, slash tires, or call his opponents Hitler.
We Lost? Time to Throw the System Out!
In the 2000 Election, Gore won the popular vote, Bush won the electoral vote. By every recount, Bush still won the electoral vote. Months after Gore gave up and conceded, other Democrat led groups were still recounting, and Bush still won the recounts, so even if Florida Secretary of State Kathryn Harris had not stopped the official recounting (which would've required her to break the law, since she had a time limit for certifying the results of the election... but let's not worry about mere facts!) it would not have changed the outcome.
Any way you look at it, Bush won the electoral vote. Yet many Dems still say that he did not. They still call him the "president-select." Unfortunately for Al Gore who won the counted popular vote, we don't do things that way. That didn't stop him from claiming he won. It didn't stop Hillary Clinton from saying we should change the way we elect presidents. It hasn't stopped Democrats insisting for years now that Bush was not elected.
Still, I can't help believe that if the tables had been turned... if Bush won the popular vote and Gore won the electoral vote... Gore would have claimed the Oval Office, and Hillary would not have made her statement about changing the way we elect presidents, and neither the Democrats nor the Republicans would call Gore the "president-select."
That's why I say with certainty, the integrity of the DNC is shrinking.
One more important point about the 2000 election. You may remember that some of the military votes shipped in from overseas did not get counted because Democrats refused to let them be counted. The reason? The stated reason was that the votes were not picked up by the required postmark for absentee ballots. Keep in mind, military personnel overseas had no control over when their mail would be picked up. Keep in mind also, that without question, most military vote Republican (liberal AC content producers take note, I said "most" so don't write in and tell me about your brother-in-law and his four buddies who vote Democrat... "most" is not the same as "all.") Finally, keep in mind that at that time the Commander in Chief of the military was none other than BJ Clinton. It's hard to understand why Dems held up the election for weeks, convinced that hanging chads would prove Gore won the electoral vote, and deliberately did not let those military votes be counted, and yet still whine that because Kathryn Harris stopped the recounts, not every vote was counted.. Curious? Not really.
For accuracy, I must admit that I was not able to find out if those military votes were ultimately counted. I don't believe they were, but not being a liberal, I stick to facts and don't go by what some dude said.
Draft Dodger!
Democrats love to say that Bush was a draft dodger during Vietnam. True, he did not go to Vietnam. Instead he was training as a fighter pilot in the Texas Air National Guard. Those pilots rotated into Vietnam, and if the war had not ended when it did, Bush's rotation would have been up eventually. Were strings pulled to delay his rotation into the war? Again, not being a Democrat I won't pretend to know things I don't know. I do not know if strings were pulled, and neither do Democrats, though they will likely write in to claim they do know, or that his daddy's money paved the way. They will not speculate whether Al Gore's father (a U.S. Senator) had anything to do with his Vietnam service. Gore served in Vietnam for 141 days, less than half a normal service, not as a soldier but in public affairs, AND he had a bodyguard. A BODYGUARD! This according to the ultra-liberal Los Angeles Times in 2000.
Here's what I do know, and what Democrats know. Bill Clinton wrote to his ROTC officer telling him how he "loathed the military" and preferred to go to school at Oxford in England, than to fight a war. Imagine that! There was therefore, absolutely no chance of Clinton going to war. But Democrats aren't bothered by that at all. They lick the feet of BJ, and with the same mouths call Bush a draft dodger. Now that's integrity for you!
As so often happens when Dems can't fight their way out of a mess by sticking to the truth, they start a "it never happened" campaign. They seek to have history put into the "myths and legends" category, and that includes the effort to claim that BJ never wrote that letter. See the nonexistent letter by clicking the link to the letter in "Resources." Not only is the letter linked, but with it a letter from the Colonel who Clinton says "saved him from the draft." Here is an excerpt from the Colonel's letter (which you can read in its entirety for yourself). Here's just a bit of what the Colonel said of that great patriot, BJ Clinton: "Even more significant was his lack of veracity in purposefully defrauding the military by deceiving me, both in concealing his anti-military activities overseas and his counterfeit intentions for later military service. These actions cause me to question both his patriotism and his integrity."
Document Theft
When Clinton's National Security Advisor Sandy Berger stole... yes, there is no other word for it, stole top secret papers from the National Archives by taping them to his legs and stuffing them in his pants and socks, Democrats turned a blind eye. To this date, nothing has been done, though the case is back now before the authorities. Pundits suggest that the documents Berger STOLE and possibly destroyed gave proof that Clinton did not try to get Osama Bin Laden when he had the chance. Again, not being a Democrat, I won't claim to know what I don't know... but it does make intelligent people wonder. After all, why else would anyone take such an enormous risk? All I can say is, good thing Berger wasn't a Republican or the Dems would've stoned him to death (led by those liberal paragons of virtue Alec Baldwin and Larry Flynt, no doubt).
As recently as January 9, 2007, as the Berger Stolen Documents Issue is being revisited... Berger's attorney made the incredible statement that his client had "moved on" and so should we. Hah! Imagine that. Try committing a crime and then demanding that the police should "move on." Does this tactic sound familiar? It should. While BJ Clinton was under the microscope for committing perjury, the mantra of Democrats became "move on." They said it with all the ho-hum interest of a guy in a hammock on a hot Atlanta afternoon, brushing away a mosquito. "Move on skeeter... move on."
There's a lot more of the shrinking integrity of Democrats to come. Stay tuned... this is a story that unfortunately for America, never ends.

Post a CommentThe article you posted doesn't disprove what I said--that if ALL the ballots in Florida were counted statewide, Gore would have won. That includes the overvotes, in which voters voted for a candidate and also wrote that candidates name in. The only way Bush wins in a recount is if the disputed ballots are discarded.
To Paul Angelo who claimly, incorrectly, that Gore's recounts showed he won. Note Paul, this is your beloved ultra-liberal hippy dippy CNN. But why quibble with facts when you can just make up your own? http://www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2001/florida.ballots/stories/main.html
By the wat Rond, you wrote, "by every recount Bush still won the electoral vote" in 2000. I'd just like to say that is just not true. The truth is almost exactly the opposite, and if it weren't for the Supreme Court stopping the counting Gore would have won. A consortium of news organizations brought together by the Natl Opinion Research Ctr of the Univ of Chicago determined that Gore would have won if all ballots were counted in a FULL, STATWIDE recount. Bush only comes out ahead under the limited recount, in which many ballots were discarded. In fact, the overvotes would most likely have been counted in Florida if the Supreme Court had not stopped the counting, and under those circumstances alone Gore would have won.
And thank you libs who wrote in to bash me and Bush and the military efforts etc., for proving my point about Democrat integrity. And have a nice day!
What strikes me about most of the comments from liberals is how much more important it is to them to be "hip" than it is to ensure our national security. Hip means bad-mouthing Bush, Iraq, the troop efforts, Christians, Wal-mart. Read the comments from libs...they don't deny the things written in this article. Instead they say "oh yeah, well Bush did this..." That says to me that they have no evidence. When you refute a point, use facts, not accusations that you believe but have no basis for. Saying "Bush is an idiot" without backing it up with verifiable facts (not what some dork liberal wrote in some dork opinion book or said on CNN or MSNBC) that we can all look at. Otherwise you show your own lack of integrity.
Xavier--Unfortunately, the "conservatives" in this discussion only look at things in a my team vs your team kind of frame. That is why their default rebuttal is to bring up Clinton, as if it is a given that whoever disagrees with them must certainly be a Democrat who loves Clinton and all his policies. They don't really wish to debate the issues at all it seems--only to try and uncover hypocrisy from the other side which will vindicate similar behavior by their side and to muddy the water--so to speak. This is the case with almost all of them on this site, with just a couple of exceptions.
To Paul Anglefire, Rond Drew, and Everyone Else as Well........:
The reality of our Two-Party system is that when one group is wrong, the other is not automatically right. Before you vilify your enemies, take a step back and decide if your own Party and it's politicians are worth supporting. See through their smoke screen of shallow diatribe and rhetoric and realize that our country is what matters, not the politicians that control it! Remember, this is AMERICA! Where they get away with BS only as long as we let them!.....Sincerely, The Good Doctor Green
Paul,
So True, I don't know Anything about ya'll beyond this screen. I do know that the circular, repetitive nature of this ongoing Political Argument is Not going to get us to Utopia.
A society's intial goal is to focus on survival, once that is achieved, and Civilization has stablized then the movement is towards a Utopian society. Maybe we're just spinning our wheels because our society is being stablized Artifically?
Xavier--you're being a little unfair. How would you know what actions people have personally taken in furthering their cause? But I do think, for the most part, that these discussions are useful to a certain extent.
Well Angelfire, your defense of war profiteering is very admirable--You certainly are a fine American. Eisenhower would be proud.
