The Independent Film Dark Arc

The Dark Arc is a highly intriguing film that plays upon the idea of images and memories. In this film the "charged image," or an image that is stuck in your mind long after others have gone, is the main character. The director, Dan Zukovic who also plays the artist, uses this image to connect all of his characters, but at the same time his charged image stays with those of us watching. After awhile the image that gets stuck in their head is the one stuck in ours as well.

The characters in this film consist of a woman who is a nonsexual visual escort, a graphics designer and an ex-art critic. The woman, known sometimes as Juxta, constantly changes her name. She puts herself into different backdrops therefore creating a "charged" image for her subjects, the graphics designer and ex-art critic. The plot interweaves the three characters and soon all of three are twisted within each other's game.

Dark Arc has several aspects that make it stand out among the crowd. The main difference is the film travels freely through time offering many images to the audience. Also, characters relate to each other like highly intellectual people in the back of a damply lit coffee house. One character refers to the setting as "the brownest, grayest spot on God's multicolored globe." No matter the reason, Dark Arc will grab your attention from the first image to the last making this film one live "charged image" in your own psyche.
