According to the Indie Emporium, it is "inspired by the current handmade revolution." This statement rings true as attendees to the Tulsa's indie craft fair will find many stylish crafts, clothing and accessories to browse through and purchase. The Indie Emporium in Tulsa, Oklahoma will commence at 7 p.m. with a goodie-filled tote bag give-away to the first fifty attendees. Almost thirty-four participants will be showcasing their crafts and clothing this year. Some of them market their merchandise on their own website, while others who do so with the help of the well-known, online indie craft community, Etsy. Eleven local artists will also be presenting their art in the fine art gallery highlighted at the Indie Emporium. The annual silent auction will start on the evening of October 29th, with proceeds benefiting the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma.
On Saturday, October 30th, the local vendors and artists will continue to present their items from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Crafting demonstrations will take place each hour from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., while "Make & Take" crafting projects will be offered from noon to 4 p.m. Live music performed by Wheat Penny, Jared Hard, and Lindsey Neal can be enjoyed during the afternoon. The silent auction will then end at 4 p.m. Seven local fashion designers, UPC Fashion, Tuggin Aprons Strings, Someday New Yorker, weather & noise, Stella Thomas, Re-runs Atelier, and celebrated Tony Li will showcase their original, handmade designs at the Indie Emporium fashion runway show at 8 p.m.
The Indie Emporium in Tulsa is partners with the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma. Every year with the Indie Emporium event, food is donated and silent auctions are held to provide money to the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma. You can also receive a discounted admission price of $5 to the Indie Emporium in Tulsa when you donate two cans of food to the Community Food Bank of Eastern of Oklahoma.
Tickets to Tulsa's indie craft fair are $5 per person if purchased in advance, or $8 at the door. Free admission is offered to children who are 12 years old or younger.
