The Internet and the Esoteric Orders
The Future Members of the Esoteric Orders Will Be Found Though the Internet
Golden Dawn is an example of the type of esoteric Order that one can find today on the Internet. Golden Dawn was founded in 1888; what can such an organization offer the modern person? It can provide a place to develop a connection with the divine, friends who share a common interest in the mysteries, and a set of techniques designed to bring one into the light and knowledge of the divine.
Though the study of Kabbalah, alchemical symbolism, astrology and the Tarot, Golden Dawn helps a person understand their soul and how to bring it into a state of perfection. Its techniques, unlike those of the Eastern Mystics, are meant to be used by those who have busy lives. One does not have to be a hermit, or forsake all riches and pleasures, to be spiritual. One can see the divine presence in the midst of our busy, hectic world though the knowledge and practices that it teaches.
And while there are several competing groups all claiming to be the one and only true Golden Dawn, the Internet has made it easier for people to be able to connect, interact with, and ultimately decide what group actually fits their needs and personality best. Plus, the Internet has made it easier for those who choose to study the system on their own to find answers to any questions that they have about its techniques.
If Golden Dawn is not right for the spiritual seeker, then there are several other esoteric traditions available. All the religions and esoteric traditions of the world have a new way to help the world and its citizens though the World Wide Web. For the first time in history, the teachers of the mysteries can be found by anyone interested in them, and their teachings read by all. The mysteries of the ages are just a click away. It is the dawn of new age of spirituality.
