The Introduction of a Biodegradable PC?

DELL Introduces a Computer Concept that Could Revolutionize the Industry

It has become the norm too see technology evolving rapidly and ideas that a decade ago seemed impossible to achieve for the average person, are now a reality in our present time. A good example is the newest green computing technology or even the touch screen 3G phones that have bombarded the market recently.

If you would've told an average person in the 80's or early 90's that someday we would be able to surf the internet, text message, send emails and communicate in general with people all over the globe through a small device like a 3G phone, most people would've probably said "Yeah right!". The same applies to the PC technology and advancements we have experienced..

Today it almost seems like any idea we have can actually become a reality, and that skepticism that many had a few decades ago is far gone. In other words, anything is possible. One of the newest developments in the computing industry as a prime example, is a Biodegradable PC that has been proposed recently by Behance Network.

The concept of this Biodegradable PC was presented to DELL by Paulina Carlos through a sustainability contest created by DELL. This all-in-one prototype is an amazing proposition technologically speaking, but another aspect that captivated many is the ecological and green friendly side of it.

This Biodegradable PC functions like a projector would, the platform for this PC would reproduce a screen and keyboard through the projector which would get rid of the physical screen and keyboard.

Installing a Biodegradable PC like this one would be extremely simple because you wouldn't need much room for it. All you would have to consider for it to work is having a wall behind it for the screen to be visible. It literally would be like a video projector, only smaller.

The PC would be operated by Windows, which is the most popular system when it comes down to budget friendly and preferred software.

The only not so good feedback this prototype has received is the keyword sensation. Since it is projected on a flat surface and it doesn't have the clicking sensation that most people desire when typing, it throws many off, so the development of a clicking sensation when typing is in the works.

Whether this prototype will end up being produced massively is yet to be seen, but one thing is for sure, great green and ecological inclined inventions are going to keep surfacing. One thing is for sure, the demand exists as people are more conscious about taking care of our planets resources.
