The Invention of Deep Fried Beer

One Can Now Choose Between Eating or Drinking Their Beer

JRS
Hey, did you hear the one about the beer-loving guy who was too lazy to either eat OR drink his pretzel and 'a cold one' so he thought someone should figure out a way to deep fry beer to save indulgence time?

No? Well, he has done it!

"I was lazy. I figured, 'Why should I have to drink and eat when I can just eat?" I wanted a pretzel, I wanted beer and I figured a way to combine them. You know, make something fun out of it," said inventor Mark Zable.

Zable started experimenting to concoct the combination himself, but the beer-and-dough concoction kept exploding dropped into the fryer and burning him.
Mark consulted a food scientist, but still, no luck.
Then, earlier this year, and after three years of trying out various cooking methods, Mark Zable found the recipe for success! He puts Guinness beer inside a ravioli-like pretzel-dough pocket and dunks it into hot oil for 20 seconds. He's thinking of switching to a paler ale later on, but most everything else about the process he keeps to himself.

When eaten, the dough mixes with the beer to create the combination taste sensation of biting into a hot pretzel dough and then taking a sip of beer."

Mark Zable's deep-fried beer was officially unveiled this year at the Texas State Fair where Mr. Zable won big in the 'most creative' fried food category at the "Big Tex Choice Awards." The Texas Alcoholic Commission said people need to be aged 21 or over to buy the fried beer and proper ID is required.
Previously, Mr Zable has invented creative dishes such as chocolate-covered strawberry waffle balls and jalapeño corndog shrimps. None have gone over as big as his 'Fried Beer.'

Other finalist of the 'fried food' category included: Deep Fried S'mores Pop Tart, Fried Chocolate, Deep Fried Frozen Margarita, Fried Lemonade, Fernies Fried Club Salad and Fried Texas Caviar.

Why waste the beer with food? If I wanna drink, I don't want food in the way of the buzz- ha ha...but I gotta hand it to that guy, it's creative, and actually does sound good

Interesting article. I'm not into beer, but his chocolate-covered strawberry waffle balls sounds wonderful.

Who would have thought?!?! It sounds gross to me, but, to each their own.
