The iPhone is Ahead of Its Time

Consumer-Demand Inspires the State of the Art Technology

Steve Jobs has always been proud of the careful attention that his company Apple has paid to the construction of their popular tech hardware and gadgets. Apple's newest product, the iPhone is no exception. It is ahead of it's time, even in the competitive arena of cellular phone technology.

The State of the Art

With respect to its web browser capabilities, it is like the canvas that the Mona Lisa was painted on before Leonardo Da Vinci began to paint the masterpiece. The iPhone, new to the market on June 29th, 2007, has a presentation that will rival the convential desktop computer. It carries Safari software, which will synch bookmarks from your Mac or PC, and you will be able to access Google or Yahoo searches. It also allows you to play music while you surf the net, so you can listen to 50 Cent sing "Straight to the Bank" as you check stockmarket activity on ETRADE.

Fingerpainting

What's really cool is that the screen will allow you to sort out everything you want to do with the touch of a finger, sort of like when you use one of those credit card machines to finalize a transaction in a retail store. You can sort your voicemail just like you would do your emails, and play just what you want with the touch of a finger. In the same way, you can send photos off as emails with your fingers.

Bluetooth is cool, but this is even better.

Creating Art Together

Just one tweak after another. It doesn't look very different than another phone, but it's just a little classier in every little respect. That's what's so cool about Apple technology. Jobs is overly-serious about creating a masterpiece. The only that makes Jobs different from Da Vinci is that his masterpiece is not complete when it hits the market, because the art of the product is only created when the consumer puts it to use. Until then, it's a lot like a really fine canvas waiting for the inspired touch of a paintbrush.

While the iPhone is about the same price as the most expensive iPod, you can count on finding pretty deep discounts available, and for the money, it's really worth it. The only drawback to this gadget is that it's really still ahead of it's time. Software and media companies are going to have to play catch-up to capture the business that all of the new technology is promising. These days, if you want to download a video file to watch, your selection of media is limited.

But Jobs believes in the ingenuity of Apple consumers, and I believe he is correct to do so. If he gives them a canvas, they will finish the painting.
