The New IPod Touch

Price Higher Than Demand?

Jeremy Zoll
Finally, Apple has come out with the 32 GB iPod touch. The previous two models that have been produced were 8 GB and 16 GB, priced at 299.99 an 399.99 respectively. It is great to see that Apple has come out with a larger product so that music maniacs can fit all of their songs onto the device, but this new model is priced at 499.99! I cannot see many people paying this much money. Apple needs to drop the prices soon in order for demand to increase. While they have satisifed consumer's wants, they are being unrealistic with this price. After all, the new video games systems can be bought for less than this, and I don't think the touch is playing blu-ray discs or allowing for interactive gameplay (PS3 and the Wii).

I can't wait to see how long it takes for Apple to realize they have overpriced their product. I don't care if Valentine's Day is around the corner or not, it is simply too high.
