The Iraq Civil War and the Lives President Bush is Responsible for

Liz Brown
The Sunnis and Shi'ites began a civil war the Thanksgiving day weekend, with nearly 200 Iraqis murdered, mosques burned, beheading in the streets, and Iraqis burned alive. Once again, President Bush denied any wrongdoing in the Iraq war, refused to admit Iraq is in a sectarian civil war, and blamed the violence on another Al Qaeda plot. George W. Bush also insisted US troops would stay until the job is complete. President Bush entered Iraq without a strategy, dividing this country into a civil war, and is now asking help from leaders who wish to take over Iraq. The blood of the innocent spilt in this war is on the hands of President Bush.

Declaring war with no strategy

During the State of the Union address to Congress in 2002, George W. Bush named three countries in the axis of evil: Iraq, Iran, and North Korea. During that year George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, and Colin Powell told the UN and American people Iraq had weapons of mass destruction that could cause great harm if Saddam Hussein's government was not overthrown. In 2003, President Bush along with England and a handful of other countries invaded Iraq. Within months, the Iraqi government was overthrown and the Iraqi people were free of Saddam Hussein's sadistic ways. However, President Bush and his staff had no strategy to keep the Shi'ites and Sunnis from entering into a civil war. Now the sectarian violence has erupted into civil war in several parts of the country and citizens of some parts of Iraq live under curfew. The violence to American soldiers has reached an all time high and most Iraqi's do not even want US troops in Iraq. Yet President Bush still insists we stay until the job is complete.

President Bush asking a tyrant for help

Iraq has become so chaotic, America can no longer control the violence. Britain is considering withdrawing their troops. Now President Bush and the Iraqi government are asking Iran to help. The President of Iran a country that is part of George W. Bush's axis of evil, is creating Nuclear weapons, and suppresses his citizens, especially women, will now be in charge of bringing peace to Iraq. Later the President of Iran told Taliban leaders, the US led forces must get out of Iraq. Some believe that once the US led forces leave Iraq the Turks and Iranians will fight over this vulnerable country. President Bush is approving the takeover of Iraq by a tyrant.

What was the point of entering Iraq?

There were no weapons of mass destruction found in Iraq, to this day. Many say entering Iraq based on the assumption there were weapons of mass destruction was a lie and President Bush went in for oil and profits. Yet, if Iran takes over Iraq once again Americans will be paying a tyrant for oil. Others claim even though there were no weapons of mass destruction found we helped free a suppressed country. Once again, by letting Iran takeover Iraq we are subjecting these citizens to be suppressed as they were under Saddam Hussein.

How can America help Iraq?

The innocent blood of Iraqi civilians is on the hands of George W. Bush and he should be held accountable. Furthermore, US troops should not be patrolling the streets of Iraq. A military man or woman should not become a police officer, it is only adding to the unrest. The money being spent on the war, once the troops leave Iraq, should be spent building infrastructures in Iraq. American contractors should hire Shi'ites and Sunnis to assist with the rebuilding. Roads, hospitals, and schools are all things a thriving country must have and by providing resources and jobs for the Iraqi citizens America can truly help stabilize this country.

The same old tired Left Wing rhetoric...

Yeah, I don't see why we'd ask Iran for help. In fact, Iran is the reason we shouldn't have invaded in the first place. If we didn't fear Iran walking in and controlling Iraq, we'd leave Iraq in a heartbeat.

The reports of the murders and bombing came from the AP. It is now known the AP was using sources of questionable character. One Jamil Hessian, a police captain, was found not to exist or using a phoney name. 10 other sources are being investigated and either don't exist or have refuted their stories. The only report that ws accurate was the bombing that killed over 200 people. The rest and many from the past two years are bogus. Bush is not seeking aid from Iran for anything. Its only the commission that is stating this.

The sad thing is Bush seems to be still wanting to hold his position-he is becoming desperate and acting cornered....like a bully who has been called out, he is not sure what to do. The only problem is this "bully" still commands alot of military might..
