The Island of Love - Chapter Ten Part One

Part One of Chapter Ten

Denise Larkin
"Pregnant? Are you sure Phillipa?"

She watched Demetri's face light up with excitement and explained uneasily, "Yes. I'm certain. I'm so sorry to break it to you like this. I wasn't sure if I should tell you or not."

"You were not going to tell me?"

She saw his surprised expression.

"Why would you do that mana-mou? I'm not a dangerous man for you to run away and hide my child from me too."

"I know, Demetri, but I have my reasons and you are probably more shocked that I am pregnant that you think."

"I'm a bit overwhelmed with the news, but in a nice way, because now it solves the matter of us getting married."

"Hold on a minute, Demetri. I didn't tell you, so you could take me back to Cyprus and marry me. I can't go back with you just because I'm going to have your child."

"Why not? It makes sense. What will you do here on your own? You won't have any money to live on when you've finished work. Anyway, I'm the father, so I should get a say in what happens to my own child, shouldn't I? It makes sense for you to marry me mana-mou. It's best for the baby and for you too. You have to agree with me."

She didn't want to fight Demetri's determination. A part of her wanted to settle down with him and have her baby in peace, without the problem of having to cope on her own in the future. She desperately wanted Demetri to look after her and their child, but she also knew that he didn't love her. Perhaps, if they married he would come to love her in time. After all, having a baby could bring them closer together.

It seems that Demetri views sex as being love... he has yet to tell her verbally, just wants to have sex, like that's his way of showing Phillipa...

I knew Demetri would be pleased about the pregnancy, but he still hasn't said the L word and that's what Phillipa needs to hear!
