This week on "American Idol" many fans were disappointed to see James Durbin knocked out of the competition. Much like Casey James, many fans had predicted Durbin to win it. Fans need to realize that they aren't the only ones voting, someone does have to go home, and your favorite may not be America's favorite. There are millions upon millions of people who may or may not agree with your choice. And that's their right. Just because you think someone should win, doesn't mean they should. Fans need to learn to be as good a sport about eliminations as the competitors are. After all, the elimination does affect them, not you. Being a good sport is vital.
With that said, many fans were put off that Durbin was sent packing, myself included. But the bigger picture is- whoever is meant to win, will win - one way or another. And that's ok. It's not the end of the world when someone is sent home and they will still have a summer tour and other opportunities that have yet to be seen.
It is often easier to predict the bottom three. Not so easy to pick who will win. However, with only three contestants left it's very unpredictable either way. After Durbin's farewell I personally feel that Haley Reinhart will be next to go. Then again we won't know until next weeks themes and songs are performed.
The Durbin fallout will keep fans voting. Voting is vital. If you don't vote you really can't complain. So get to voting fans!! Chances are the ones you really wanted to win (when there was a top 10), isn't even there anymore. Move on, pick another favorite- and wish everyone well. Don't stop watching because your team didn't win. This isn't your show and your decision, but a show for everyone! Everyone's opinion is important!
And no matter who wins - if they do win, they deserve it!

Post a CommentHaley's dodging the bullet when Casey went home was what kept her in the race this week and got her into the top three. Now with James gone, it is more likely that people who voted for James will send their votes to Haley than either Scotty or Lauren. With that kind of competition it is doubtful that Haley won't be in the finale. That means it is most likely that Lauren will go home this week, leaving Scotty in the finale. With only one Country singer left, all her votes will go straight to Scotty and he'll win. That's how I see it now, and my prediction that Scotty would win already several weeks ago is becoming more solid than ever.
