The Jersey Shore Snooki Gets Busted by Newark, NJ Mayor Cory Booker

Snooki Caught Tweeting Texting & Driving by New Jersey Mayor

As if Snooki wasn't in enough trouble! Fresh from appearing in a NJ court on charges of "disturbing" people, the most popular, adorable, or most annoying cast member of MTV's The Jersey Shore - depending on your point of view - has now been admonished by one of New Jersey's most powerful politicians - Mayor Cory A. Booker of Newark, NJ. Snooki was tweeting while driving.

Snooki tweeted "Ugh stuck in Newark traffic is no fun!" Mayor Booker shot right back to newly snooty Snookie by tweeting, "I can give you a ticket 4 texting & driving."

The Jersey Shore has a cast of colorful - that's one word for them - characters, which has taken the country - the world? - by storm. Snooki may be the most well known, and certainly she's been in the news more than her fellow TV crew as of late for behavior unbecoming a reality show star. Of course some could argue that it's just the sort of wild antics that get one noticed in a reality show.

When Snooki recently appeared in court, sheepishly shy by any standard, the judge asked her if the behavior - disturbing people - which brought her before him was scripted by her MTV reality show. She said no. The judge went on to compare her wild behavior to current bad Hollywood girl Lindsay Lohan. Snooki got off relatively easy - a $500 dollar fine and two days of community service.

Despite the inherently comic tone of a New Jersey mayor catching a NJ reality show star from The Jersey Shore texting while driving, the dangers of texting and tweeting while behind the wheel is no joke. Maybe in the future, Snooki will refrain from something so risky while driving, or at least have a little bit more sense to not be so public by using Twitter to broadcast her location while on the road.
