The Jewish and Alien Heritage of Ancient Japan by James Oda - A Book Review

Is the lost tribe of Israel the founder of Japan's imperial family? Written by James Oda Katz c 1997 909.049240 HSLS 19505229827 Self -published (no ISBN) 17102 Labrador St. Northridge, CA 91325 Edited and formatted by Merijane O. Lee, 10 Meadowood Drive, Portola Valley, CA 94028.

Somehow came across such a strange and unbelievable title, that I had to read it.. I initially thought that the writer was another eccentric writer such as David Icke who believes that a reptilian bloodline has ruled the world since time immemorial. On the other hand, perhaps another fringe radical historian akin to Zecharia Sitchin.

James Oda himself wrote that he also thought at first - the very idea was ridiculous. If you happen to come across this out-of-print book, it is recommended reading. The unfamiliar viewpoint alone is worth the read. Oda writes with bluntness in his short synopsis of more than 25 books on this odd subject.

I am unable to make a synopsis of his synopsis any shorter. This book is like a reader's digest paperback of only 153 pages in large print that one is able to read in one sitting. For an English only reader, this is a rare opportunity to be able to access a whole list of books that would never otherwise be available.

I initially gave the book veracity because it was more than from one writer. Wonderment at such novelty gives a person a whack in the side of the head and changes your paradigm of the world around.

The hairy Ainu people of Hokkaido are considered a lost tribe of Israelites because they are not Japanese. Is this hate speech? "The theory that Japanese and Jews have common ancestry", is called a Tondemo book, Tondemo means "outrageous" or "preposterous" in Japanese. As posted on Wiki, "Tondemo-bon is 'something amusing from a perspective that differs from what the author intends'"

On such book Oda summarizes, "Enigma of Jewish and Japanese Ancient History," by Rabbi Marvin Tokayer and translated into Japanese by Soichi Hakozaki. Oda writes that the tome is so exceedingly rare that only three U.S. libraries have it on their reference shelves. (It probably never existed.)

Another book that the average non Japanese would never otherwise even be aware of it's existence is a heavyweight volume of 1198 pages by the name of "Jinnoki" by Yoshihiro Miwa (1921). Miwa translated into modern Japanese the "Fuji Miyashita Document", written by Emperor Shie-fu (Hsu-fu).

Although there are some outlandish and crazy things that are confirmed by other writers, I'm not certain about the accuracy of some of the references such as the typo error when Oda had dropped the first 'i' in Zenichiro Oyabe.

Page 47 Figures 6-1 & 6-2 Crests of the Asakusa Shrine and the Gad Tribe. (that are supposed to look similar (three peaks with a line drawn over each apex) . The symbol of Gad is a tent according to STAR, (Sephardic Tradition And Recreation.) None of the symbols of the Ten Lost Tribes include a mountain. In the book, both symbols appeared more like three erupting volcanoes that are blowing smoke rings upwards, such as at Mount Etna in Sicily.
