The Journal - Digital Journaling Software Review and Comparison

Brian Jones
In the world of writing, none is more popular than journaling or keeping a diary. No matter if it's for only a personal record of your life and loves, or if you are keeping track of a project, or even for self-improvement in your professional writing, journaling is as popular today as it ever was. The only difference is that with the changing times and technology, journaling has moved into the digital forum.

One of the best software solutions for journaling is The Journal, which is now on its fourth generation with The Journal 4.1. This software is available for a free 45-day trial period and can be downloaded at CNet. After the trial period, it only costs $39.95 and is well worth the price. DavidRM software, the company behind the journal provides a great digital interface for your journaling or diary.

The Journal software is well-designed and easy to use. It provides a full-range of tools that allow editing and formatting by adding pictures, tables, and media files. There are also many included templates for any type of writing you may be doing. Your writing is made completely private with password protection and can also be used by anyone in the family with their own personal passwords. No extra licenses are required for multi-user functionality.

The automatic daily entry feature of The Journal is one feature that many enjoy. Another is the completely customizable interface. Also this software is searchable to easily find any of your past entries. The best part about this software, however is the free lifetime support. This support is not just from a nameless company entity, but one-on-one from the software creator himself.

To compare The Journal with other journaling software we will also be looking at the top 3 competitors. The first of these is Smart Diary Suite. Smart Diary Suite also supports many formatting options and in addition, easy voice recording. One interesting feature of this software is the customizable graphing to see how your life or project compares over time. It is also $39.95 and only offers a 30-day free trial.

The second journaling software we are comparing is the Xtreme Journal System. This secure journaling program is secure and searchable and also allows for adding photos, media and scanned documents. One feature of this program is its ability to connect entries to form stories by subject whether it is a person, place, or time. This software is free for 30 uses. After that it will cost $29.95

Thirdly, we have Effective Journal. It allows creation of very colorful entries and photo additions. Backdating events in this software is easy so you can incorporate lost notes or forgotten moments seamlessly. It is searchable and password protected as well and sells for only $15.95.

Of these four programs, The Journal is the most user-friendly and robust. Try it yourself and see how powerful a writing instrument it really is.

    To concerned:

Paid advertisements do not recommned competing products in the same article. And, honestly, if you really need special software beyond whichever word processing program you currently use, you are wasting your money. No matter which "journaling" software you buy, it's not going to do anything more than your computer and current word processor already does itself.

This article is basically for people too stupid to realize MS Word already does everything would ever need for any type of digital writing.

This review is so generic and is almost completely devoid of content. It appears to be paid advertisement.
