The heat of the wind
Stinging my face with its arrows of sand
While the sun assists it in a final assault
The shade of a small tree is welcome
If only to get the sun off of my face
For the baking steam of the sands
Does not change within the small shadow
I follow a path that I had chosen
There are times that I feel I chose correctly
Feeling the weight of my Past off of my shoulders
And be able to walk straight and true in my Life
There are also times where my feelings are the opposite
Feelings that I should have stayed and fought
That I could have changed who I am
Become what others had wanted me to be
In the end, I left to seek who I am
A Vision Quest that breaks all my ties to the Past
Somewhere along the quest my journey has come here
To lands that feel like the blasting fires of Hell's furnace
My choice was ridiculed by those whom I called "friend"
Those whom I had shared water with
I was driven from my mountains by their taunts
Here, in the blast furnace fires, I seek what I should be
