The Joy of Giving Gift Baskets to Children

DJG08
It's always a tough choice - what to buy as a gift for a child? Especially if you aren't as familiar with a child as you might wish, you can be left wondering what gift might both be appropriate and express your wish to bring joy to their face!

Gift baskets for kids, while sometimes difficult to find, are a sure source of delight for both the giver and the recipient. If you can find them, popular choices for boys are baskets that include action figures, hot wheels and die-cast truck models. Girls' baskets tend to feature dolls, soft toys, stuffed animals and movie characters.

Now, while there are few "standard" gift baskets for kids to be found in stores, shopping online can be your best option, and also a great source of ideas. Look around on the Internet to find some great deals from companies that will do all the hard work for you, arrange shipping, and adding a gift label to make sure that your gift gets to the right little person!

To make your gift really personal, why not think about putting together a gift basket yourself? This can be a really fun shopping experience, especially if you involve another child in the process! You will get priceless moments to share and make the shopping part of your memories of the occasion.

By using your imagination and creativity (and a little crafty research on each of your kid's interests!) put together a gift basket for each of your little ones (and maybe not-so-little ones, too!) Start with a list of their interests. Don't forget that boys and girls often have surprisingly similar tastes. Jot down some categories that will help focus your search; examples for your list might be sports (sports cards and other memorabilia); pets (cats, dogs, small animals); toys (hot wheels, soft toys, beanie babies) and so on. You can also use themes like colors, games, books and other activities to help in your search.

Add an unusual container as a "basket" (junk, second-hand and thrift stores often have treasures like old hatboxes and tool-totes). Don't forget to include a personal touch of your very own.. Once you have packed the basket, add some clear wrap, decorate, place your gift label and - there you are!

Your basket will not only light up your children's faces, but will be a gift they remember long after the occasion has passed!
