The Kiss

Ruination of the Soul

Becky Smith

It is mind altering
Lip numbing
Soul searing.

It can wipe away pain
Fear
Frustration.

Soft and sensual
Hard and demanding
It takes all your passion
All your strength
You must fight or give in.

Fight and lose
That which your heart
Your mind
Desires, longs for.

Give in and lose
Your heart
Your mind
Your soul.

Can you resist
That which your heart
And soul desire?

A flame burns bright within you
Fingers become entwined in hair
Breaths mingle
And become one
Hearts beat frantically.

Pull away
Do not go on
It will be your ruination.
